Undisciplined
Mar. 2nd, 2009 09:28 amI think I’ve figured out why I’m so bad at tutoring unruly kids: I’m not capable of pressuring people to do what they don’t want. Never have been, really - all my life I’ve been excited about people finding what they want to do, I want people to find the truest parts of themselves and go with that, whether it includes me or not. So if you’re not into math, or writing, or learning, or whatever, that’s fine, you do what you want. Which I guess is not the attitude you can have if you’re a real teacher. This is probably why I’ve never wanted to be a manager or a leader at work; I like everyone being enthusiastic and involved because we’re all in this together, you know? Man, that sounds like a bunch of hippie crap. Stupid hippies.
