I’ve never liked the word “fiancée”, I’ve always thought it sounds kinda foofy, like an affectation of frenchiness, you know? And the official change in description from “girlfriend” to “fiancée” feels a bit unnecessary, because we know how we feel about each other and this journey we’ve chosen, and anyone who looks at her and I together can probably tell there’s something profound going on. Given all the comments like “we always knew you two would get back together”, “it was obvious from the start that you were made for each other”, and “it’s about damn time”. But I guess there can be something cool about a change in designation. I’m just not that into the word “fiancée”. I think I’ll start referring to Couplingchaos as my beyonce.

Annabelle and Seishino said there’s the Spanish equivalent “promitada” which means Promised, and oh my god I LOVE that. It is so sweet, and so evocative. It’s perfect.

Julishka congratulates us on our plans to get “marinated” and I think that is a fantastic word for it. Marinate is something you do to meat to transform it and make it tastier, and we are made of meat, and getting married feels like a kind of transformation with the intent to make us tastier! This made complete sense in my head a minute ago.
