Deritualled
Jun. 4th, 2008 08:16 amI’m still loving my new laser-eyes, optometrist says I have just about 20/20 vision I’ve got no significant side effects or discomfort. I have to hold books a bit farther away to read comfortably, which is just me getting used to being unfarsighted. I’ve noticed that I miss removing my contacts. Not “I miss it” in that I wish I still had to do it, it’s more like I note the fact that I don’t have to do it, and it’s a slight realization-pause in my day. Used to be that removing my contacts means going to bed, taking out my vision was a ritual strongly linked to the onset of sleep and rest. I got used to the fact that taking out my contacts means soon I would be blissfully asleep, and now that I just go to bed and close my eyes, it feels like something’s missing. It’s subtle and kinda of hard to describe, but it’s there.
