get to the chopper!

Walking with Couplingchaos by the Charles river last night we saw a half-dozen of Cambridge motorcycle cops (they use BMW bikes, I love that!) escorting a pair of black SUVs up Memorial Drive. Only identifying marks on the SUVs are these placards with the Texas flag on the dashboard. We get to that open park area by the BU bridge and there are two Blackhawk helicopters parked hot with rotors spinning. There were no identifying markings on them so I thought might really truly be those Black Helicopters of super secret government missions, which would be SO awesome! But when we got closer I could make out the black US ARMY lettering stenciled on the tail, ok not as spooky, but still cool. They lift off and hover for a few minutes before peeling away into the dark western sky. There’s something unreal about helicopters, they way they hang in the air seems unnatural, unreal, predatory. God I love ‘em.
